Glenwood Pet Hospital Covid-19 Protocol

In an ongoing effort to do our part in battling the ongoing pandemic, starting Monday, March 23, Glenwood Pet Hospital will enact the following protocols. Please understand that we are taking these steps in order to protect our staff and the general public while continuing to be able to care for your special furry ones.

1. For scheduled appointments: Upon your arrival, please leave your pet in the car and come to the front door to check-in. For the safety of our staff, please wear a mask. Then, you will be asked to wait in your car until the doctor is ready for your appointment.

One of our staff members will meet you at your car, take your pet from you, and get a good contact phone number from you.

  • All cats, exotics, and pocket pets must be in a carriers or otherwise contained.
  • All dogs must be leashed, but we will switch to one of our leashes when we take them from you.

**WE WILL NOT BE ALLOWING THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO ENTER OUR BUILDING.**

Your pet will be examined by one of our doctors, and the doctor will then call you to discuss any findings and recommended treatments.

**ALL PAYMENTS MUST BE MADE BY CREDIT CARD OVER THE PHONE.**

2. For Scheduled surgical patients: The above protocols will be the same for surgical patients.
You will be contacted by our surgical staff in order to complete consent paperwork via phone and email prior to the day of your surgery.
The doctor will call you with an update post-op, as we always have. Your pet will still go home with written instructions as we have previously done.

**AGAIN, ALL PAYMENTS MUST BE MADE BY CREDIT CARD OVER THE PHONE.**

3. For existing clients and pets with minor issues, we may be able to assess and prescribe treatment over the phone without a visit, as long as the pet has been examined recently.

4. For prescriptions, medication refills, and food, please give us 24 hours notice. All of these will be picked up using our drive-thru window (with the exception of large bags of food, which we will set outside for your to retrieve).

**AGAIN, ALL PAYMENTS MUST BE MADE BY CREDIT CARD OVER THE PHONE.**

As you know, this is a constantly evolving situation, and one we have not had to deal with previously. Again, please remember that our top concern is for the health of all involved (you, your pet, and our staff). We believe these measures are reasonable and necessary. We hope that by taking these steps, and working together, we can return to normal operations as soon as possible.
